From Saving America’s Mustangs

There is an awful lot of work occuring right now. So many reports and documents being crafted. So many film makers getting on the trail. Journalists and larger publications are beginning to ask questions. The Court case for access will hit the Ninth very soon…. and roundups will begin again during foaling season very soon.

The time is now.

Raise your voices. Contact media, Legislators and keep Faxing Bob Abbey. We need change… not in five years… we need it  NOW.

We have been wishing for Oprah’s support! Maybe Madeleine’s YouTube request plea reach her!!!

Very sad and impacting video and editing.

    Good job, everyone!

  2. Poor Ginger says:

This is so wonderful … and sad at the same time. It’s hard to see the images of majestic Mustangs running free juxtaposed with such unimaginable cruelty to both the horses and the helpless burros.

I hope Oprah will watch, listen, and ACT. We all know she has the power to move millions. I pray she exposes the plight of our precious Mustangs … and beloved burros.

    Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Thanks, Madeleine. I am so glad you have done this and you know this fight is
coming to a climax. WE must All save the mustangs and burros Now.

Also, the U.S. Forest Service and the Fish and Game?

The new “Forest Planning Rule for the National Forest Management Act” lays out a framework through which the U.S. Forest Service (FS) will develop management plans for 155 national forests and 20 grasslands nationwide, comprising 193 million acres in 42 states—all belonging to the American people.

Included in this area are 37 wild horse or burro territories located in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon and Utah, which are home to an estimated 3,332 wild horses and 550 burros (2010 FS estimates.)

  5. MargoWolf says:

Yes, Louie, the Forest Service invited wild horse advocates to come to their meetings being held all around the West last summer. There was someone on this but they dropped it and we got no further information and there was not anyone else who picked up the thread. This was an opportunity to give the horses on FS lands support. WE failed to cover this. It is a shame but somedays I feel the middle class was sacrificed in this country in order to allow the Government a freer hand with everything and to keep science and opinion and the press out of the way of the further politicalization of corporate America. Despite this I believe there still is a place and room for the wild herds.
