I see nothing different out here… if I do I’ll let y’all know. You know I pray this actually means something like I did before Denver. I gave my name to volunteer for a cooperative in Denver and almost 8 months later have never heard a thing.

Todays report soon.

WHEN he STOPS THE ROUND-UPS, we’ll believe him.

He is just going to use the deadliest birth control now so we have to wait years for horses to have foals if ever. Once a herd is not reproducing…. it is negative population growth and could then be zeroed out?? Why would this change the fate of the horses?? They would be rounded up and disrupted and families separated. You saw this done last year when there were no precautions taken to keep bands and families or even foals together…. mar

Abbey may be hoping to reduce the violence and the public revulsion but it will not end unless the horses are darted each year, selectively, by trained equine techs. mar

The reality of a government shutdown

Regardless, federal contractors would lose out. Many contract workers could be furloughed without pay and not receive lost wages retroactively, especially in an extended shutdown.

When does the report come out by the “independent” observers?

Wild horse advocates attacked over “false claims”
    February 20, 2011

A moratorium on wild horse gathers is untenable, Bureau of Land Management director Bob Abbey says.
He directed sharp critisim at wild horse advocates, saying false claims, misleading statements and false characterisations about the bureau’s actions, motives and intentions are circulated on virtually a daily basis on the internet.
Wild horse advocates have been seeking a halt to all wild-horse musters to enable an overhaul of the bureau’s wild horse management programme, which they label inhumane and costly.
Abbey, in a guest column in “Roll Call” , said many members of Congress had received emails, letters and phone calls from wild horse activists in recent months.
“These activists are waging an aggressive campaign, both in the federal courts and in the court of public opinion, that is aimed at stopping the Bureau of Land Management from gathering wild horses and burros from overpopulated herds on Western public rangelands.
“With herd sizes growing at an average rate of 20 per cent a year – thus doubling in size every four years – these removals are necessary to protect wildlife habitat, the horses themselves and the public rangelands from the environmental effects of herd overpopulation.

The districts don’t even know the average sex-ratio on the range for the last five years in each HMA that they are screwing with…
There is no “20% growth rate” and believe me there is predation… when you have lion hunters and USDA trapping coyotes cause they tick off the ranchers… there is predation.

Abbey needs to come camping in Nevada with me… I’ll show him the truth.

You would be better asking them about something they know !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Death and destruction , deceit. lies betrayal and murder of the innocent !!!!!!!!!!!!! Hummm the name Horse Hitler keeps coming to mind !!!!!!

  7. Mar Wargo says:

Yes, decisions are based on biased information to get the right outcome. They do as they please and the horses have been routed across the West over the past 6 years. Some ranges with healthy herds have just been reduced to remnants over the past 7 months. Healthy herds are just about a thing of the past. This year we will still be fighting the extinction machine.

    take care all, mar

So, why is Abbey announcing this now? Is he trying to shut us up just before their funding hearing?

  9. arlene orlando says:

Dear Laura < Thank You !!! for all you do !!!!!
