Remember “who” we are…

Removed from the range by helicopter stampede and loaded into a moving metal box and taken down horrendous dirt roads… to be dumped into a collective pen with all the horses until personnel came to “sort” them.

They did not want to be separated…. he balked at the chute… she fought to be with him. He tried to answer her calls. They released him into a pen… she could see him… she did not want to enter the chute…

When they released her she tried to get into the stud pen with him and stayed at the gate until forced to move on…

They called to each other the entire time I was there.

Family and Freedom… American values?

Into the chute with him...

She fights to go with him...

He answers her...

She fights...

and fights....

She sees him as he enters the stud pen...

She wants to be with him...

They release her and she tries to go into the stud pen...

He tries to find her...

They call to each other the whole time I am there.

Why?

Shipment to PVC in am… will it be mares and stallions? I don’t know…

I have been notified we will be kept a mile and a half from the trap… welcome to Elko. (Remember Owyhee?)

    Christ Laura,
Can we tag them to buy somehow?
    Who do we call?
    Such indifference.
    Jane

  2. Barbara Warner says:

And they treat these horses like they have no feelings. Another tragedy.

  3. arlene says:

OMG ! These so called people are monsters, I know about how they call to each other, you must always keep them together, their cries to and for each are pitiful, their bonds are strong and beautiful to separate them is horrible for them, tears stream down my face,I can hardly contain myself, here i sit helpless to help them……This needs an answer we must stop this horid desrespect , The BLM is on my very last nerve……………Dear Laura I commend you and everything you do, how i would like to be there with you, maybe for me it is best not to be there, i would make such a scene over this i would be carted away…….

    • Suzanne Moore says:

I feel the same way as Arlene, Laura. I want to be out there with you SO much, but I’m afraid I’m not as strong as you are. I would lose it and cause such a scene we might both be banned.

Take care and remember we are with you in spirit, and I’m sending these pics to my so-called representatives in DC.

  4. arlene says:

The answer to the question WHY! Because they can and we are helpless to stop them. Thats why !!!!

  5. JT Quinn says:

” MY HEART IS BREAKING AND MY BLOOD IS BOILING ” May the agency known as BLM rot in the deepest pits of hell for what they’re doing to these innocent creatues, for this I do pray.

  6. Mar Wargo says:

Jane, If you are wanting to adopt/buy these horses contact BLM and tell them about them now. If you want a stallion to remain intact tell them. mar

  7. savewildhorses says:

We are not helpless to stop them! Do not believe that illusion. The BLMs reign of terror on wild horses could end just like Egypt’s did. Think the BLM is corrupt? The average Egyptian lives on $2 a day. Their dictator was worth $5 billion dollars. They were not even a democracy and they toppled this regime in 18 days. It started with social networking. But only achieved the result because people were willing to make a stand away from their computers. The world supported them. Our country would support the wild horses, but they first have to know what is going on.

    • Laura Leigh says:

Lost my copy of the Sountrack… but these are great songs to keep “focused.”
Constructive work… document and spread the word… tell everyone you know to call and write to Congress…

    • arlene says:

If Egypt can do it , we can do it, after reading about the stallion and the mare calling to each other I remembered how they do this, it tore me to shredds , I am sick and tired of this Horror they are being put through all unnecessary from the beginning, THIS MUST STOP AND STOP NOW !!!!!

    • arlene says:

Dear savewildhorses, until we make a stand for the horses we will have to endure What the BLM puts out, they care about nothing, day after day the horrors unfold one after the other, and continue to get worse for the Horses, they are the ones suffering endless injustices, they cannot talk for themselves, we as educated people must do it for them…………….The Mustangs horrors are our horrors aLso…… I am damn mad !!!! This is all unnecessary!!!!! And i for one am sick of it, we talk about it till we are blue in the face, and it will continue, you are right the only way now is to MAKE A STAND, otherwise the HORROR continues…………….

      • arlene says:

The horror that was report here today is unspeakable , they only way it stops is when we collectively as a nation say it does and not one minute sooner……………………………….

Maybe John Boehner will help. I just sent him the Email below. There is a place for Emails at his site.

Please stop the roundups and removals of our American wild horses now. They are in danger of extinction as there is no excess as the BLM claims. Millions of cattle have been proven by a 1990-91 GAO study to have destroyed public lands and riparian areas and not wild horses yet the BLM under Secretary of Interior Salazar spreads this propaganda. Please visit http://www.wildhorsepreservation.org, http://www.americanherds.blogspot.com/ and http://www.GrassRootsHorse.com to get the truth and to see photos and videos of how cruel the roundups are. Many horses die and are injuried and 39 mares miscarried their foals after the Calico Complex roundup last winter. Now wild horses are being chased for miles in the cold and are wet with sweat. at the Antelope Complex roundup in Nevada.Pneumonia has already caused the death of some horses and foals and others have broken their necks and legs. Millions of our tax dollars are being spent for these atrocities and they must be stopped . A congressional investigation of the DOI/BLM needs to be done.Thank you. Please reply.

    tears on a Sunday morning….

  10. Morgan Griffith says:

Remember Owyhee? I will never, ever forget it.

    • Suzanne Moore says:

Me either, Morgan. And that SOB Alan Shepard perjuring himself telling Judge Hicks the roundup was an “emergency,” when we have documented PROOF that it was no such thing. Does anyone care? Evidently NOT.

  11. sandra longley says:

Blow Lauras photos up and immediately contact the facility, don’t wait, get them identified, the date and time they were shipped sometimes that narrows down the pen they are in..it depends on how co-opertive the people are at the facility..

  12. sandra longley says:

valentines day is not my favorite, but this does not make a pretty valentines picture for sure…they are beautiful and i hope you get them someone, they both appear young..too young for SA, adoption

  13. Louie Cocroft says:

To schedule an appointment to adopt an animal at PVC, please call (775) 475-2222 or e-mail Tim Green at Timothy_Green@blm.gov. Facility hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

  14. Julie Frahm says:

I am not able to adopt, but am willing to help buy them if someone can keep these two together!! To fight so hard to stay together earns them the right to be together!!

  15. Linda Horn says:

Laura, regarding how far you’re being kept away from the trap sites, I remember the words “a reasonable distance” were part of the lawsuit. Was “reasonable” ever defined? Did your lawyers ask for a definition? And, if not, why not?

  16. Honor Hannon says:

This is how it must have felt in Egypt before the peaceful revolution—no say in how yourgovernment mistreats those it was set up to protect. Our taxes being wasted on torture of these poor wild creatures. Happy Valentine’s Day Americian style to our wild mustangs!!!!

  17. Polly says:

I have no place to keep them but will help with getting them adopted and together,

  18. Barbara Warner says:

    I will help too.
Those 2 horses were more devoted to each other than most married people.

    • arlene orlando says:

Dear Barbara Warner, This one story touches my every nerve !!!! (Not That All Have not ) but I cannot take this story , it at first made me sob uncontrollably , Sunday was a complete fail for me because of it………………… then I got Mad ….. Your right the devotion of these two is a wonder , they truly deserve to be together, it tears me apart that they so callously paid no attention to them, I could just shake those people……… This proves that Our Mustangs Have thoughts, to separate them is a Sin against everything that matters…………………………….. The BLM and their totally digusting Lies Infuriate me……………………………

  19. Cindy says:

if he is released and she is not…then they can never be together again?

    • Laura Leigh says:

I have brought up that it would be a great “gesture” to show that “family bonds” will begin to be recognized… if they bring her back and release her with him.
I know they will discuss it at the meeting tonight…
