No horses captured on 2/7. Roundup called due to wind. Meeting location changed to Wendover from Ely.

Slideshow from 2/6… so many images and so little time. Hopefully this gives you a “flavor” for the day.

Wendover?? The area has been losing so many horses.

Fly Boy, we are going to clip your wings… that is a promise. mar

  2. Puller Lanigan says:

Welcome to Yahooville! I think that guy just likes to fly and to catch a horse is a bonus. That being said, two horses is $700. But his moronic hazing may have cost that mare he chased (and wasted gas) her foal and her winter reserves.

Horses are going to split when pursued, all prey animals do that.

    • savewildhorses says:

When the contractor makes close to $40,000 per day, that’s $20,000 per horse, not $700. ($1.2 million/30 days).

  3. Barbara Warner says:

That pilot is a complete fool. He is getting right on top of the horses instead of herding them in the right dirrection. Poor horses–they are being run and scared to death. And the BLM says this is humane. What a lie !!

  4. arlene orlando says:

We need to demand arrests to these LAW BREAKING FOOLS, They all need to be Grounded Immediately , all Operations need to be Discontinued……………………..

  5. arlene orlando says:

Thank You Laura, for all you do !!!!

  6. Jan says:

Thank You so much, Laura, for being there for our Wild Ones…for documenting the horrors and for sticking to your guns. There is no doubt in my mind, that witnessing these atrocities cannot be easy for you. But without you, and others like you…well, I don’t want to imagine.

These pilots KNOW they are being watched…and still they behave as imbiciles. I don’t want to think what they would do if they weren’t being watched. And what do they do before they come into view of the cameras…I shutter to think. I only hope that the landscape from where they locate these families, doesn’t allow them the kind of insane, cruel closeness these (THIS) pilot seems to thrive on. This guy needs his license pulled – and the contractor fined for abuse and FIRED.

I hope you don’t mind, but I took a screen capture from this video, posted it to my FaceBook profile, with a link to your blog (I will remove both, if you prefer). So many people here in the east don’t even know that there are still Wild Horses in the West. I was one of them…but no longer. Their story needs to be told and shared, and advocated for before there truly are no Mustang left for us…for our heritage…for future generations.

But mostly and most importantly…for them, for their families, for their very freedom.

    Thank You, again…

    ~ Jan

My purpose is to bring you what I see… your purpose is to yell it from the roof tops! We are links in a chain… guaranteed by our First Ammendment!

      • sandra longley says:

well put Laura..We should all be asking why only singles are being brought in..We all know wild horses are social animals and do not go off to live by themselves, even bachelors form bands..WHY are we seeing so many singles? Are the others dead and down back in the brush, shouldn’t the BLM be sending out search parties to find what happened to family members, so few horses out there, estimates must be way off of what the population census is..completely flawed, even tho they were driving horses from the Schell area into antelope on the first day and possibly in that “pregather” time frame before the roundups start. Over a million dollars for so few horses that they have to be brought in as singles? A huge and unacceptable waste of hard earned tax payer is where congress needs to start on wasteful spending during the budget process.

  7. arlene orlando says:

From day one this has been Direct waste of the Taxpayers money, never has The BLM (bureau of Lieing Morons) proved overpopulation, It has all been useless lies , murdering , maiming ……………

  8. ljbain says:

This makes me absolutely sick to my stomach, HOW can people do such things. My eyes have been opened to more cruelty than I thought existed. Last night was the first time I heard of heart sticking..WHAT kind of a mind conceived of ways like that to kill others. God is looking down and wondering what he created, he must!!

“When a human dies there is a bridge they must cross to enter into Heaven. At the head of that bridge waits every animal that human encountered during their lifetime. The animals, based on what they know of this person, decide which humans may cross the bridge and which are turned away.”

    Story #3:
You do make a difference. just in case you ever doubt it.

    • Laura Leigh says:

Out here it doesn’t feel like it… yet.

      • savewildhorses says:

‎”Bodhisattvas practice ‘in the middle of the fire.’ This means they enter into the suffering of the world; it also means they stay steady with the fire of their own painful emotions. They neither act them out nor repress them. They are willing to stay ‘on the dot’ and explore an emotion’s ungraspable qualities and fluid energies — and to let that experience link them to the pain and courage of others.”

Stay on the dot. We are all connected with you whether you can see us or not. (and no, I am not a buddhist. Just thought of you when I read this).

      • Suzanne Moore says:

savewildhorses is right, Laura. You have made a huge difference already. I know it may not seem like it out there in the cold with all those BLM idiots, but you ARE being successful in SO many ways.

        Keep the Faith!

    • Anna says:

thanks so much; this is a postive step in the right direction!

see if everyone sent in photos of mustang abuse on range and in corrals to the Sheriff; then he could see the “abuse!

The Mustangs suffer in the blm corrals on a daily basis !
(at the blm corrals; foal after foal after foal “perishes!):(

  10. Mar Wargo says:

Thanks for posting the news video, SWH… mar

  11. Arla Ruggles says:

Hang in there, Laura — your work is IMPORTANT and VALID … and gaining notice. Not fast enough, but beginning.

Please let me know what I can do to help from “next door”
(And do know that my invitation stands: Our door is open any time you need to sit down, reground, and rest – or do laundry. There’s room for Elvis to run, also.)
