Sun J does it AGAIN

Sun J contractor

Professional?

Multi-million dollar government contract

Horses are protected by Congress?

Outrageous Conduct!

Tomorrow he flies again...

Today the BLM did not update their hotline so I was late getting onto the range. I would have been on the other side of the rise…

Does this pilot need anger management classes or serious glasses? Either way Sun J needs to be pulled from this roundup. Many instances of either incompetance or laziness. Internet issues… will write more tomorrow.

unbelievable…as the cows look on…what an injustice!

how are they (BLM) going to talk their way out of THIS one?

  2. Tara Bruning says:

Instead of getting better it is getting worse.

  3. Cat Kindsfather says:

He is sadistic. This is not a cruelty to animals, sport event. Their contract must be pulled, and the pilot should be prosecuted. Laura, this is not the first cruelty for Sun-Jay either, right? Who flipped the burro?

Thanks for staying on it Laura. Good reporting, and we all appreciate your coverage.

    • Cat Kindsfather says:

Excuse me, this is his second time in just a few days! What I meant, was atrocities @ other roundups too. Deplorable! : (

  4. Suzanne Moore says:

I can think of many things this pilot “needs” besides glasses or classes, but, not wanting to be classified as a terrorist by BLM spies, I won’t elaborate.

Go to this link http://www.mynews4.com/story.php?id=36858 and leave your comments on this excellent article about the BLM’s treatment of the poor old mare they ran into the ground. This reporter seems willing to dig for the truth. Encourage her!

  5. arlene orlando says:

This is a Criminal in action here, his license should be revoked, there is no reason for this kind of conduct, this man is a coward of the worst kind…………… Has no business rounding up any thing………………………Inhumane and should be held accountable for this disgusting display…………………

    Truly despicable!!

  7. arlene says:

    thanks; I have been using the words “animal cruelty” since Dec. 29th; 2009; when I heard about “the BLM “shooting an elder mare who was nursing a foal named Trooper; since that day my battle cry has been “BLM Mustang Animal abuse;
and since that day I have been banned from many forums!
anne white conn. usa 1951 I sent the videos to my US Rep.!

  10. Anna says:

comment: we could talk amongst ourselves forever! however
imo; ONLY Congress can stop An act of Congress so I urge you; no I beg you; PLZ. SEND THESE VIDEOS TO the US Congress ! (you can find your US Representative and Senators on line! AND SEND THE NEWS REPORTS TOO; thanku!

  11. Linda Horn says:

swh, thanks for pointing out the young one in the first three frames. Initially, I didn’t see it, but when I another look, I spotted a shape at the left of the first frame and enlarged. This poor young one tried so hard to keep up with mom, despite the chaos it was witnessing. This isn’t just inhumane and abusive – it’s BARBARIC!

I don’t think it’s a foal – too big in relation to mom – probably her yearling. That doesn’t make things any better or the pilot any less stupid and cruel. But I bet she’s pregnant, and, after all this hard running and stress, may lose her foal.

The BLM “experts” will likely say the helo only APPEARS to be on top of the mare as a result of telephoto lense compaction. BLMers, look at frame two, where the exhausted mare appears to have stopped (from the attitude of her head and position of her legs) and the youngster starts to turn away. The proportion of helo to horse clearly shows the machine WAS directly at least dangerously close.

I can’t tell from the stills if the pilot bumped her, but he sure kept up the pressure “in place”. Look at frame three – where she bolts – the position of the foreground and background rocks and vegetation are virtually unchanged from the second frame.

Bob Abbey and company, in light of all that observers have witnessed and Laura has documented when Sun J has been your contractor of choice, you’d better reconsider their “expertise” , and comments about “on the Job training”. The Cattors are inhumane, but Sun J is downright dangerous to our “protected” American Mustangs. And I shudder to think of the horrors Sun J would visit upon slow-moving and stubborn “protected” burros and their young!

    • savewildhorses says:

There is no excuse for the closeness of the helicopter. None. It is not spinnable by the BLM. I don’t think flying aircraft are meant to be flown on top of living beings, not to mention so close to the ground. What kind of damage is this pilot doing to the range? This pilot needs to be pulled along with the contractor who is getting paid $1.2 million dollars for this horror show.

  12. arlene orlando says:

This is criminal , and should be addressed as such !!!! This Pilot should be grounded and tried in a Criminal court of Law !! whether its a baby or not makes no difference, these are not live stock……………………… These are our Icons, who have been abused for much to long we must end this Barbaric nonsense now !!!

  13. arlene orlando says:

Dear Linda Horn , savewildhorses posted this link , I am posting it again i hope savewildhorses doesnt mind, but check out what SunJ is raking in at the expense and injury to Our Wild Mustangs, in case anyone missed this its worth printing and looking at for sure !!! Sun J incorporated for business last August. Look at the money they have raked in from us taxpayers in less than 6 months. Can you believe the waste? We pay dearly for this cruelty. 14. The likes of Sun J and the Cattoors will CONTINUE to fly unless WE all do something about it and take action, because the blm sure as Hell won’t. We ALL need to send the FAA pictures, articles, and videos of what these low-life terrorists are doing to these animals, and don’t stop sending them till SOMEBODY gets a response from them (the FAA). Congress isn’t listening, we all know that. But its US who has to hit it home for our horses and burros.

    • Linda Horn says:

The statistic that frightens me is the adoption number, since that’s the BLM benchmark for removals and PZP. 2009 Adoptions = 3,197, 2010 = 2,960, a decline of about 7.5%. Projecting a further 7.5% decline in 2011, the number would be 2738.

The average decline between 2004 and 2010 is about 10%, which would equal 2,664 for 2011. If “returns” are included, the adoption numbers will be lower, with corresponding removals and mares PZPed.

The difference in adoptions between 2008 (3213) and 2009 (3197) is 16 horses, or a decline of only .5%. The economy was already in the dumps. What made the difference compared to previous years, and why did things backslide?

It’s vital we know which percentage the BLM is using, and what’s the real reason the Adoption Program is faltering. Are qualified adoptors being discouraged from participating or, worse yet, not being ALLOWED to adopt?

  15. Ann Lawrence says:

    Dear President Obama
This video has gone around the world. Seeing is believing. And it is the truth. How sad that for all our greatness–our light to the world is tarnished and dimmed by the actions of BLM–your government agency. You must hold BLM accountable for harassing and injuring these beautiful animals. We the People will not make excuses for BLM–we stand with all the people of the world who see the cruelty of BLM’s actions against a symbol of America.

  16. Anna says:

    Hi Linda;

I read on the blm website…only 900 Mustangs were adopted in Y2010; out of 12,000 rounded up; perhaps I am incorrect

but my statement is; The BLM purposely OVERBREEDS America’s Mustangs In a “a male to female mustang Ratio Scheme; which results in too many females getting preg.

and always recall what the BLM refers to in their 2010 pgs.

BLM calls The wild mustang foals…”a foal CROP ! a crop ?

so the BLM “harvests this foal crop every spring and summer; which means they “shoot ANY club footed foals !”
(BLM “shot 6 club footed foals atleast just past month fallon
and spare some of the rest; ever seen such ghoulish goons

  17. Anna says:

If I could wave a magic wand and have Congress DICTATE to the Bureau of Land Management:

    I would dicate this

YOU THE BLM SHOOT ONE MORE FOAL AND i WILL HAVE YOU ARRESTED ON FEDERAL ANIMAL CRUELTY CHARGES…

MARK MY WORDS ! I am in communication with Congress!

“trust me ! THE “SHOOTING OF FOALS WILL STOP FOREVER!

thisis my fianl emal for a while working with my Rep./Sen.

ps the new senator of conn. is the former DISTRICT ATTNY!

ps go to indian lakes update Jan. to see how many foals blm shot January 2011; only Congress can stop the “goons!

  18. Anna says:

comment 20 mustangs perished @ Fallon NV January 2011
from those 20; approximately 17 were two years or younger; like I say: the blm “harvests their foal crop! Sick!!!
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT
I WILL NOT BE ON LINE FOR ANOTHER few DAYS…yay?

Reading the report from the BLM turns my stomach, they are nothing but a bunch of Bastards, who wouldnt know how to present the truth for lies all the time…..You know Laura, Maybe Egypt has the right Idea………………..
