Twin Peaks Pics III

Not much to say… or perhaps not enough time to type all my thoughts…?

Today BLM had us head out to the trap site. We were aprox. 1 mile from the mouth of the trap and visibility into the trap was obscured by trees.

Helicopters took off at 7:14. We saw three horses head into the trap at full speed when we arrived. We observed no other horses captured but we heard the helicopters to the east. We were told wind was a factor.

After about 4 hourse we left the trap site and headed out to look around. We saw the horses at Twin Peaks just being wild horses.

Then we stopped at Litchfield… and saw the captives.

Heading to bed.

Still free...

Are his days numbered?

As we should be...

Litchfield Stallions

New life...?

  1. Twin Peaks beauties. mar

  2. Beautiful, GORGEOUS horses! You take such wonderful pictures. I pray that this mama and foal don’t get jerked apart from each other.

      a good remark:

      The BLM would be so much wiser to “adopt these Mares and Foals out as a team…

      I would say the no. 1 reason why so many Foals do perish inside the BLM “Camps for Mustangs is…

      they separate the Foals and wean them WAY too early;
      I understand Foals can stay with their mares for 2 years;
      some mammals like whales nurse for almost a decade !

      some never leave their Mums; and bands stay intact…aw

    my comment is:

    If you look carefully @ the pix “Litchfield Stallions; by enlarging the pix by pressing on the pix with cursor;

    IN THE RIGHT HAND CORNER IS “A DOWNED STALLION…

    see what I do with each pix and have been doing for 8 mos.
    is I SCAN THE PIX WITH MY EYES FOCUSED looking for any DOWNED MUSTANGS; when I see “a downed mustang (that would be a mustang laying flat out on side with head low…)

    I copy the pix and add to my file of “BLM ANIMAL ABUSE…
    which I intend to copy to Congrees or law enforcement…

    I have not decided yet if I will contact federal law enforecement; but have already contact state and local..aw

    Summary: THE BLM RUNS MUSTANG STALLIONS; MARES AND FOALS…SOME TO THE POINT OF EXHAUSTION…

    HOW I WOULD MANAGE WILD STALLIONS BY ANNE C WHITE

    1. There would be no helicopters used whatsoever…
    2. MARES would be left out on the range; every single one…
    3. Foals would be left out on the range; every single one…

    WHAT I WOULD DO ; if I were in charge of BLM Wh & B prog.

    A. I would build a huge RESERVATION FOR WILD MUSTANG STALLIONS; This Stallion Preservation would be about 1,000 acres up to 10,000 acres land for each Stallion…

    B. the Preservation would be on public lands and would be “fenced in a large square of about 1 million acres…

    C. Inside the Preservation which is on blm public lands; no trees shrubs would be cut; Sage would be left intact; and not even a rock would be moved; would be 100% Natural…

    here is the key:

    I WOULD BEGIN WITH A SMALL HERD OF 500 STALLIONS:
    inside the Reservation exclusively for Wild Stallions: I would make 12 Corrals; EACH CORRAL WOULD HAVE A LEAD STALLION and and other Stallions…Lets’ say I have 500 Wild Mustang Stallions: I will make 50 natural style corrals inside the reservation; each corral holds 10 stallions: AND THERE THEY WOULD LIVE FOR REST OF LIFE

    B. HOW I WOULD USE THE STALLIONS TO BREED MARES…

    1. I would divide the stallions into 12 Bands; named The Twelve Tribes of the Mustangs; Each Tribe would have a lead stallion with a special name; such as Lightening; General; True; etc.

    2. Each Band have their own area in the Rerservation…

    3. When I WANT THE STALLIONS TO MATE WITH A HERD OF MARES: I WOULD LET JUST ONE HERD OF STALLIONS OF THE TWELVE HERDS OUT INTO A HERD OF MARES…

    then they would mate; return to their reservation…The Mares would produce offspring by ONLY one herd a year

    IN THIS WAY NO MARES WOULD BE ROUNDED UP EVER…
    the population would be under control because the Stallions would not be able to breed unless let out to mares

    ALL GELDINGs WOULD BE RETURNED TO THE RANGE…young Stallions would not be gelded until older…

    So THE BLM D0ES NOT KNOW HOW TO MANAGE WILD MUSTANGS TO PREVENT OVERPOPULATION ; THUS PREVENTING ANY FUTURE GATHERS…

    My idea is build a special preservation for Stallions who would be let out intermittendly in small herds throughout the year to mate with Mares to keep the population going;

    the mares would be able to live next to the Preservation; in the wild 100%; They would be like one big Mustang “tribe…

    with no overpopulation; such as the BLM propogates by “inserting rounded up sTallions into the herd after gather; if anything older stallions should be put into herd…
    summary: stallion reservation (huge); 12 tribes of stallions; (bands); Stallions mate only once a year; better foals born…TO THE BLM ya don’t mate horses based on colors !
    ya mate horses based on health and genetic compatability

    and ya don’t add youngun stallions to a herd of older mare

    correction: I would build a huge RESERVATION FOR WILD MUSTANG STALLIONS; This Stallion Preservation would be about 1,000 acres up to 10,000 acres land for each Stallion…

    I meant to write: This Stallion Preservation would be about”

    1,000 square miles or greater; would be nothing like a corral

    Would be like the way HMA are supposed to be; Natural…aw

    Beautiful images. Joy and sadness. Now, whenever I see a photo of a mustang, I wonder what the future holds – freedom or imprisonment.

    be sure to read the necropsy report with Alan Shepard; #5

    Good Luck on stopping the roundups; God knows I tried…

    a. by singing countless petitions; b. emails to sens. reps;

    the good news is: you don’t have to own a mustang to sign a petition; but me thinks these blogs are for horse owners only; but DO NOT FORGET THE THOUSANDS OF UNKN0WN AMERICANS WHO every day SIGN HUNDREDS OF PETITIONS

    which are sent to the Establishment on daily basis; goodby
    this has been a horribly emotionally draining experience…

    in conclusion; The BLM leaves downed mustangs to starve in the pens with no hay; water or shelter and this is the truth; ps letting stallions back the blms’ next gather; get it?

    to everyone: Good Luck! Hope you stop the roundups soon!

    Do not forget; the Mustangs belong to the American People…DO SOME RESEARCH ON THIAMINE VITMAIN B1…

    JUST ONE SHOT CAN GET A SICK MUSTANG TO STAND UP…

    but who would believe that ? not too many; signing off; AW

    good bye…Goodby Hope; bye Feathers; see ya downed mares and I am truly sorry our gov. left you out in a sand pit or sand lot where you met your maker; tho’ only a foal !

    pps I have not been banned from any blogs;misinforamtion

    like i say i have given my thoughts now lets hear yours ! that is what a blog is about; to give out thoughts;

    my thought is separate the Stallions from mares…bon jour!
    as I write; there is a downed stallion with no access to hay(at Litchfield and prob. a lot of others; BLM doesn’t feed ‘em and that is illegal to not feed a sick mammal; and they don’t give them Thiamine B1 shots either; which would get them up and foraging in the Mustangs blm camp

    Anna ~ I think it would be MUCH better if you asked people questions via email and not on open blogs. You are giving ammo to those who want to spread dissension among advocates.
